I decided not to go to NY after all. Certain snags came up in the plan the resulted in me realizing that my tagging along would be completely useless. I didn't know that in addition to my bf, the director, Randy, was bringing along a whole set crew of guys. None of them had any reliable transportation, so we would all have to ride in Andy's truck, which only seats 5. I would have made 6, which meant sitting wedged with no seatbelt between 3 guys I didn't know...for 3 hours. Also, a few of them had buddies in the army, and so were carrying a whole arsenal of various guns and borrowed weapons across state lines. Although there is no law against this, it would be an enormous hassle if the cops were to show up at Randy's grandma's house while she was on vacation and find 5 big out-of-state guys, 30 rifles that didn't belong to any of them...and me.

Plus once we got there, we would sitting in the middle of a strange woods in the middle of the night while Randy and Andy went of to shoot the scenes they needed. Which would leave me and the same 3 strange guys to stand around with the weapons and props. Knowing me, I would quickly grow tired, cold, hungry, and bored. As a result I would do one of two things: pace in a circle, bitching and nagging about everything I could think of. Or wander off into the dark woods to try to find something to do.

Needless to say, I will go another time, when I feel I might actually serve some kind of purpose.
